A solar inverter is the component in your solar panel system which changes the direct current (DC) electricity captured by the solar panels, into alternating current (AC). 

Even though the inverter requires minimal maintenance and it is expected to last around 5-10 years, let's not forget that is the hardest working part of your solar system and faults are possible. 

Signs that your system has developed a fault:

• the inverter displaying error messages or warning lights
•  the inverter is generating unusual sounds 
• your SEG meter showing that you are not generating any electricity or far less than normal
